After two decades of teaching in traditional classrooms, I embraced the opportunity to take my English teaching online. It has been an incredible journey, allowing me to connect with students from around the world. By making this transition, I've discovered a more efficient way of teaching, saving time on commuting and dedicating more energy to crafting engaging and enjoyable lessons. With my tailored approach, interactive tasks, and comprehensive range of resources, I provide the guidance and support your son or daughter needs to succeed academically. Trust me to help your teenager consolidate their learning, practice essential skills, and revise key content, boosting their confidence and grades.

In my small group sessions, limited to only 8 students, your teenager will benefit from the focused attention of a smaller class while still enjoying the energy and ideas that come from learning alongside peers. This group dynamic allows students to learn collaboratively, drawing from each other's insights and diverse perspectives—a valuable skill in itself. Often, students in one-to-one sessions become overly reliant on their tutor, but in a group, they develop greater independence and resilience.

I also provide resources for the entire half term in advance. This approach helps students familiarise themselves with key material before each lesson, reducing feelings of overwhelm or anxiety. They can prepare at their own pace, which helps them feel more confident and ready to engage actively in each session.

With my experience as both a teacher and an examiner, I understand the AQA syllabus requirements in depth. My sessions are specifically designed to build the language skills necessary for success, and I share the techniques, mark schemes, and insights that will help students to understand what examiners are looking for.
GCSE English Literature

My live workshops cover a range of texts that are typically studied in GCSE literature. I understand that each student's exam schedule may differ, so I offer the flexibility to select the sessions that are more suited to them.
My lessons include an in-depth study of texts such as 'Macbeth', 'Romeo and Juliet', poetry of Power and Conflict, Love and Relationships poetry, 'Jekyll and Hyde','An Inspector Calls', and 'A Christmas Carol'.

Throughout the course, we will cover key themes, character analysis, and plot details. We will also delve into the historical and cultural context of each text and learn how to effectively approach exam questions. Additionally, I will provide model answers, flashcards, and explain how mark schemes work to give students a clear understanding of what examiners are looking for.
